Agenda | May 2019
✽ MAY 2019 Hello Dreamers! Summer is just around the corner, and so is some fresh new plot. We're looking forward to events this month! • CITY DEVELOPMENTS • With the ominous tones and associated confusion last month, the pleasant temperatures and sunny skies of May are at odds with the temperament of the city. Aifaran is abuzz, not quite given in to chaos but there is a sense of something coming, and that everyone stands at a great precipice waiting to see what falls. While only the plants in the Wiosen Botanical Gardens were wiped out during last month's festival, the rest of the plants in Aifaran seem a bit stunted. Blooms are less frequent and vibrant; new leaves are not their usual bright green. Botanists can't find anything actually wrong with them, so this is simply added to the pile of mysteries. Conversely, the lightning trees are positively thriving. Some force or forces are at work, and the people of Aifaran are coming to realize that. The Dreaming has played an active role in the formation of the city and archipelago, but never before has it behaved so antagonistically. This, some people say, is too focused for the fickle tricks of the Dreaming plane alone. A mix of fear and determination permeates the streets, even as people attempt to go about living their lives as normally as possible. • UPCOMING EVENTS • ✽ STRANGERS AT THE GATES { May 10 } In the silent wake of the ships, the city takes time to collect itself. Answers are few, and as many people believe the ships are a threat as a boon. Suspicion and rumors are running rampant, and those who aren't keeping their heads down or moving to one of the more inland settlements are watching the ships closely. On the night of the 6th, someone finally gets fed up with sitting on the docks and slips into the water. Or else, that's the assumption - there are fewer people on guard at night, and only a handful of sleepy observers. No one notices anything is wrong until the individual is on the deck of the ship bearing a completed archway. Cries go up and the Sentry is on the move, pushing their own boat off the dock to apprehend them. A grainy video, posted immediately to the network, captures the individual attempting to write or carve something into the arch itself. Then, from behind the crowd, a bright ball of light streaks towards the Sentry boat and blows a hole clean through the side, giving the intruder enough time to escape in the ensuing chaos. The weapon technology does not belong to the archipelago, but it is recognized. On the ship, the space beneath the arch flickers with light and goes quiet again. The chase begins. Note: This event will have a mod-posted log available for threading. ✽ CHASING SHADOWS AT THE CAPE { May 10 - 30 } In the early morning hours after the incident at the docks, Sentry and Alliance officials make an announcement: an unknown number of fugitives have infiltrated the archipelago, and a massive manhunt is being organized. Owing to the assistance Dreamfolk have recently provided investigating certain incidents, and due to the… insatiable curiosity many of them display, the Sentry would rather coordinate efforts than be at odds with them. Search teams will be dispatched to several nearby settlements along the coast, including Cape Averi. Note: This event will have a mod-posted log available for threading. • AFFINITY RANKS • Remember to check out your character's AFFINITY RANK for the various areas of repute within the city! An OOC post with information regarding the log will go up May 6th with details about opportunities for exploration outside the city. |

But her revisited tendency to keep to herself just may be a fly in the ointment at times.
She's probably also going to be scaring the bejebus out of people with her Summons--though she doesn't mean to.
Because there's nothing scary about a ball of Lightning with eyes, right?
