✽ GAME STATUS UPDATE

Hello Dreamers!

Thank you to everyone who replied to the June Agenda. Based on that input, the modteam has decided to transition Khu Ioduan to a sandbox game.

Below the cut, we have a list of immediate changes that reflect this transition while we update the comms. There may be some additional changes we make moving forward, but we wanted to provide the community with a response sooner rather than later.

Hey everyone,

We've seen that this month has been been challenging for many of us as far as real life circumstances and activity. We hope that things improve soon and that spring brings renewal and a chance to recharge.

Because things have been slow RP-wise in March and we're more than halfway through the month, we've decided to grant AC amnesty. For March, you'll only need to do a check-in for AC. Players can still submit activity for primary and bonus AC points this month if they have it.

Hi, all!

Makari here. There's no real amazing way to say this, so I'm just gonna lay it out straight. Effective as of approximately now, I'm stepping down as a mod.

This is an amicable split, so don't fret! I've been fighting burnout for a little while now, and have ultimately come to the conclusion that it's not fair to my fellow mods or the players to keep on like this. After discussion with the rest of the modteam, I have opted to prioritize my mental health here, so I am partaking in the better part of valor and stepping down. I'll still be around with Zephyr, and it's my hope that by focusing my efforts on him, I'll continue to bring investment and love to the game.

Applications have been open permanently. We came together and decided that, as such a small game, there wasn't really any need for an app cycle. So going forward into the foreseeable future, apps will be open indefinitely.

✽ GAME UPDATES AND PLAYER INPUT SURVEY

Hello Dreamers!

Khu Ioduan has now been running for about a year, and it's time to do take a look at where we're headed next year! This post contains a few process changes that will be implemented next year, and a player survey that will be a required component of December AC. You can reply to the survey any time between now and when December Activity Check closes.

Hey everyone, Mod-Team here.

Because things have been slow RP-wise during November and the holiday season is fast upon us, we've decided to grant a partial AC amnesty. For November, you'll only need half AC per character, which means a minimum of 7 comments over a maximum of three threads. Players can still get double AC this month as well.

As part of our preparation for next year, December will be check-in AC with a survey component. The mods will be working on outlining overarching metaplot and will be presenting elements of this structure for consideration by the players. To ensure we get enough responses, we'll be including the survey response as a required part of December AC, so keep an eye out for that next month.

Because things have been slow RP-wise in September and we're more than halfway through the month, we've decided to grant a partial AC amnesty. Hi Dreamers, Li here with some news about a big change.

Effective the month of August, I'm going to be stepping down as a mod of Khu Ioduan. Between ongoing health issues and general modding burnout, I haven't been able to give my duties in this game my best, and it's reached the point where I know I need to bite the bullet. I'm going to be handing off the game ownership and stepping back into the role of a player only.

It was a very hard decision - I'm not ashamed to say I'm teary writing this - but I think ultimately it's the right one for me. I began modding for Tu Shanshu in October 2013 as a plot/npc mod, took over as lead mod in May 2014, and we launched Khu Ioduan in January 2018, so that's almost 5 uninterrupted years of modding in this same game sphere. It's been a trip! But a wonderful one.

Through all of that, I've made some really special RL friends because of DWRP, and everyone who's been along for the ride has been a joy to write for and plot with. Thank you all for making my modding experience richer and more rewarding than I could have ever hoped - I appreciate every one of you more than you know.

I leave you all in the brilliantly capable hands of our other four modteam members, of whom I am profusely grateful to for supporting me. I'm looking forward to seeing where they guide the game in months and years to come, and I hope you all are too!

Just letting you know that this month and last have been bogged hard with some major IRL issues for all five of us, which has kept us from getting as much done gamewise as we'd like. We apologize for having to move Ships in the Night to this month, and for not having updated some of the plot-related things as quickly as we'd have liked to.

Hi Dreamers! Just a housekeeping update, we've revised the Talent Upgrade slightly. You can now request it at any time, not just during AC, and we've got a dedicated form on the Talents page for you to fill out.

The ACP cost of leveling up the Talents, etc, has all remained the same. We just put it in a better spot! :)

Hello Dreamers! We've got an announcement about the March Mission, which is set to run March 24-30. These are Choose Your Own Adventure style events where characters will work together on teams, with each team having variable outcomes depending on their choices!

WELP, your mods starting digging into writing the various branches and we discovered this isn't really doable in the 6 days we'd originally allotted for the event to run, even though the mission will ICly take place over the span of just a few days. Rather than trim out good parts for characters working together, we've decided to move the mission posting day to March 25th and to extend its end date to April 5.

Additionally, we've added a section to the Activity Requirements page, covering AC Exemptions with regards to events like this. Here's the new section:

Occasionally, special event logs like Missions or other game-wide events will qualify for an Activity Exemption, meaning that they can be used for either the month they're posted in, or the following month. This usually happens when the event falls near the end of the month. These events will be clearly marked in the OOC section of the log/post saying that they can be used for either AC, however a player cannot submit the same event log for BOTH Month 1 and Month 2.

Example: A mission log posted on July 25th and is marked as an activity exemption log, can have threads submitted for either the July AC, or for the August AC, since activity tagging will carry into August anyway. However, a player cannot use that log for both July AND August ACs.

So to summarize:

• The Moqsing TQ-727 Mission will now be starting Sunday, March 25th and continuing to Thursday, April 5th. (Backtagging of course is allowed!)
• Activity Exemptions are now clearly detailed in the AC Requirements page because we forgot to put them in before.
• Are you guys ready for a mission 'cause it's going to be a good one...
